Step-by-step guides

Get paid: set up payouts before publishing a paid classA paid class needs a connected payout account before it can go live — here's the full setup.
  1. Open Settings → Payments and choose Set up payouts.
  2. Complete the Stripe onboarding (identity + bank details). This runs on Stripe's secure flow, never inside Student Body.
  3. Back in Student Body, confirm the status reads Payouts enabled.
  4. Set a price on your class and publish — the publish guard unlocks once payouts are enabled.
Bring your existing schedule into Student BodyAlready run classes on Acuity, BSport, or a spreadsheet? Import them instead of re-entering everything.
  1. Go to Integrations and pick your source (Acuity or BSport), or choose CSV / paste.
  2. Map the imported classes to the right venue and review the drafts — nothing goes live yet.
  3. Publish the drafts you want bookable. Imported sessions stay owned by the connector and re-sync automatically.

For students

Is Student Body free for students?

Student Body is free to use. Browsing, discovering, and booking classes doesn't cost a thing. If you book a paid class, you'll pay the price set by the instructor or studio.

Is this just another booking app?

No. Booking is just the beginning. Student Body helps you discover classes, follow instructors, and build a routine that feels like yours. The more you use it, the better it gets.

Can instructors pay to show up higher in my results?

No. There's no sponsored placement. Results are ranked by what fits you best—not anyone's marketing budget.

How do my feed and Discover work?

Your Home feed learns from what you save, follow, and attend, so it gets better over time. Discover is where you explore everything else—searching by location, class type, time, and more. Saving a class or following an instructor simply tells us you're interested, with no commitment to book.

Is my availability and data private?

Your individual availability is never shared. Instructors only ever see anonymous, aggregated availability—not your personal preferences. Availability helps sort and recommend classes, never hide them, and you can change what you share at any time.

Do you run ads or sell my data?

No. We don't run advertising, sell your data, or monetize your attention. We're here to get you into the room, not keep you on a screen.

What are booking and feedback like?

Booking is simple, and feedback is just as easy. Reserve your spot, add it to your calendar, then tell us how it went with a quick prompt after class. No star ratings—just feedback that helps us recommend better classes.

Where is Student Body available?

Student Body is currently available across Porto. We're starting here so we can build the best possible experience before expanding to new cities.

For instructors

Is Student Body just another booking tool?

No. Booking gets students through the door. Student Body helps them come back. Discovery, demand insights, and thoughtful feedback help you build a teaching practice that lasts.

How will students find me if they don't know my name?

They don't need to. Student Body surfaces instructors and classes that fit a student's interests, routine, and availability. A save or a follow is a meaningful signal that someone's leaning toward you — before they ever book.

Do I keep my own students and pricing?

Yes. Student Body helps you build your teaching practice without standing between you and your students.

Will you take a commission?

No. Student Body doesn't take a percentage of your bookings. During beta, everything is free. When paid plans arrive, they'll be simple, predictable, and we'll give plenty of notice before anything changes.

What's the difference between a class and a session?

A class is what you teach. A session is when you teach it. For example, "Vinyasa Yoga" is your class. Tuesday at 8:00pm is one of its sessions. Keeping them connected means feedback, demand, and reputation build around the class over time—not from scratch every week.

What is the demand heatmap?

Think of it as a map of student demand. It combines signals like searches, saves, follows, and activity to show where demand is growing—helping you schedule with confidence instead of guesswork.

How do I join?

Anyone teaching in Porto can create a profile during our beta. Set up your page, publish your classes, and start connecting with students—no invitation needed.

Can I get paid through Student Body?

Yes. Students can book and pay in the app — cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and MB WAY. Connect your Stripe account under Settings → Payouts to start accepting payments. Student Body takes no commission.

For studios

How do we join?

Studios can request access during our Porto beta. We'll help you import your schedule, get your team set up, and be live in minutes.

Can we keep our pricing, students, and existing tools?

Yes. Your pricing, your students, and your existing systems stay yours. Import your schedule from platforms like Acuity, BSport, or YOGO—Student Body works alongside the tools you already use.

Can we run more than one venue?

Yes. Student Body is built for multi-venue studios from day one. Manage every location from one dashboard and compare performance across venues as you grow.

How does scheduling on an instructor's behalf work?

Studios can propose classes for their instructors, while instructors stay in control of what gets published. If approval is required, the class waits for sign-off before it goes live.

How is feedback handled fairly across the team?

Student feedback is routed to the person who can actually act on it. Comments about the space go to the studio, teaching feedback goes to the instructor, and shared feedback belongs to everyone. Nobody's reputation carries what isn't theirs.

Can we add instructors who aren't on Student Body yet?

Yes. You don't have to wait for everyone to sign up. Add instructors to your roster, assign roles and permissions, and they'll claim their profile when they're ready.

What about reporting and data?

Export your analytics and attendance whenever you need to, with CSV exports, printable reports, and a full export audit trail. Student contact information is only shared with your studio when students have given permission.

Is there commission on in-app payments?

No. In-app payments are live — students pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or MB WAY, and the money goes to your connected Stripe account. Student Body never takes a percentage of your bookings. When paid plans arrive, they will be simple and predictable.

Pricing & beta

Is Student Body free right now?

Completely. We're in open beta, so every feature is free for everyone—students, instructors, and studios included. That also means you'll have access to features we expect to become part of future paid plans.

When will you start charging?

Not while we're in open beta. Before we introduce paid plans, we'll share the plans publicly, explain what stays free, and give everyone plenty of notice.

Will there always be a free tier?

Yes. Every role keeps a meaningful free tier. We want the free experience to stand on its own—not exist only to push people into a paid plan.

Will the features I use in beta get locked behind a paywall?

We won't quietly close the doors you walked through during beta. Some features may eventually become part of a paid plan, but we'll explain what changes, give plenty of notice, and make sure the free tier continues to stand on its own.

Do students pay to use Student Body?

No. Using Student Body is free for students — discovering classes, booking, and showing up don't cost a thing. What you pay for is the class itself, at the price set by the instructor or studio. Paying through the app adds no fees or markup.

What might become paid for instructors and studios?

We're still figuring that out—and beta is a big part of how we'll decide. Our principle is simple: the free tier should cover the essentials. Paid plans should be for people who want deeper tools to grow their practice or studio.

What's still on the way?

We're building in public, so new features keep arriving throughout beta. In-app payments just launched; next up are class packs, memberships, and more tools that make discovering, booking, and managing classes even easier.
